By Car
There are three major interstates leading to downtown Cleveland: I-71, I-77, and I-90. Three others, I-271, I-480, and I-490 bypass the city and link east and west sides. The Ohio Turnpike runs through the region as well.
From the east via Interstate 90:
Exit at 173C to Superior Avenue/St. Clair Avenue (0.1mi);
Slight left at E. 26th St. (118 ft);
Turn right at Superior Avenue (0.8mi).
From the east via Interstate 80 (Ohio Turnpike - From Eastern Ohio and Pennsylvania)
Take the Ohio Turnpike to the interchange for I-480 West (Exit 187.);
Proceed west on I-480;
Take the I-77 N/I-77 S exit 20B to Cleveland/Akron (0.1 mi);
Take the I-77 N ramp to Cleveland (6.5 mi);
Take the E 14th St exit 162B to E 22nd St (0.2 mi);
Continue on E 14th St (0.1 mi);
Slightrightat E 18th St (0.3 mi);
Turn left at Euclid Avenue (0.3mi);
Turn right at E 12th St (.2mi).
From the west via Interstate 90:
Take exit 172A to E 9th St/ I-77 S (476 ft);
Bear right on E 9th St (0.8 mi);
Turn right at Superior Avenue (0.1 mi).
From the west via the Ohio Turnpike (Interstate 80):
Take exit 151 for I-480 E toward Cleveland (9.8mi);
Take exit 11 toward Cleveland (09 mi);
Merge onto Berea Freeway (0.4 mi);
Merge onto I-71 N (8.5 mi);
Continue onto I-90 E (1.4 mi);
Take exit 172A to E 9th St/ I-77 S (476 ft);
Bear right on E 9th St (0.8 mi);
Turn right at Superior Avenue (0.1 mi).
From the south via Interstate 71 or Interstate 77,
Take the I-77 N/I-77 S exit 20B to Cleveland/Akron (go 0.1 mi);
take the I-77 N ramp to Cleveland (6.5 mi);
take the E 14th St exit 162B to E 22nd St (go 0.2 mi);
Continue on E 14th St (0.1 mi);
Slight right at E 18th St (0.3 mi);
Turn left at Euclid Avenue (0.3mi);
Turn right at E 12th St.
Parking
Limited street parking is available throughout downtown Cleveland. Visitors may park in the garage adjacent to the Eaton Center or in a nearby ground lot.
By Air
Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is the largest airport in Northeast Ohio, located only 10 miles southwest of downtown Cleveland. More than 350 flights arrive in Cleveland Hopkins International Airport each day. Cleveland is served by more than two dozen major carriers and is a hub city for Continental Airlines. Visitors can get either taxi cabs, shuttle service or public transportation from the airport, which is about a 15-minute drive from downtown.
The fastest, most economical means of reaching the Consortium from Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is the RTA (Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority ) Take the Rapid Transit red line train eastbound to the Tower City station, which is just south of the Consortium’s campus. Taxis are available, or, if you prefer to walk,you can walk two blocks north on Ontario Street to Superior Avenue, and then five blocks east along Superior.
If you have rented a car, you will leave the rental agency, turn left on Maplewood, right onto Cleveland Parkway Drive, and right again on Rocky River Drive. Follow this to Brookpark, turn right then go right again to take 480 East. From 480 take exit 11 to I-71 East to Cleveland until it merges with Interstate 90. Burke Lakefront Airport, located right downtown along the Lake Erie Shore, provides facilities for corporate and private aircraft.
The Cuyahoga County Airport lies 15 miles east of Cleveland, serving private and corporate jets.
Akron-Canton Regional Airport, 50 miles south of Cleveland, provides jet service and direct flights. With seven airlines, it serves 800,000 passengers each year.
By Bus
The Greyhound bus depot, serving both Greyhound and Trailways, is located downtown on Chester Avenue near East 14th Street. Taxis are available, or if you prefer to walk, you can walk one and a half blockswest on Chester Avenue to E 12th St and then 1 block north to Superior Avenue.
By Train
The AMTRAK station is near downtown Cleveland. Take the RTA Waterfont blue line train to Tower City (do some shopping, if you like, while you are there). Taxis are also available at the AMTRAK station, or, if you prefer to walk, you can walk two blocks north on Ontario Street to Superior Avenue, and then five blocks east along Superior.
By Local Bus or Light Rail
The Consortium is served by local bus and light rail service providing transportation to locations throughout the Greater Cleveland area.
